Dalhousie University is a public research university in Nova Scotia, Canada, with three campuses in Halifax, the capital of the province. Founded in 1818 as a college of arts and sciences, the university grants undergraduate and graduate degrees in more than 180 programs. The university is a member of the U15 Group of Canadian research universities. Offering more than 4,000 courses and 100 degrees in 12 faculties, the university operates more than 40 research centres and institutes. Dalhousie attracts students from across Canada and from 140 countries around the world, and its 6,000 international students make up 20 percent of the student body. Dalhousie is one of Canada’s oldest universities and is known for its strengths in health care, ocean sciences, and sensible living.
