In this program, you can obtain both theoretical and practical experience in the cellular and molecular sciences. You can take opportunities to discover research on medically important issues from how cells become malignant, to how gene expression influences ageing.

You can also do a paid co-op, a research thesis project, or a specialization in Management Sciences within this program. Ryerson’s interconnectedness to the biomedical sector will also help equip you to make a significant contribution to health care, whilst also advancing your

You can also continue studies with this degree and obtain a professional degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, or physiotherapy or a graduate degree in molecular science (MSc and PhD).

Biomedical Sciences at Ryerson University

Academic Requirements

To get into this program, you will need your Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program-specific requirements:

Usually, a minimum overall average of 70% will make you eligible for admission consideration; however, this average is subject to competition. Individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages.

You will need these prerequisites:

  • English (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
  • Advanced Functions (MHF4U)
  • Two of Physics (SPH4U), Chemistry (SCH4U) or Biology (SBI4U)
  • Note: the minimum grade(s) required in the subject prerequisites (normally in the 65-70% range) will be determined subject to competition.

Applicants who did not receive their education in Ontario may provide documentation that meets the Ontario standards. Ryerson retains the right to decide on equivalence at its discretion.

Tuition and Fees

For the Biomedical Sciences program at Ryerson, tuition for Domestic students range from $7,032 – $9,562. For International students, the fees range from: $30,008 -$30,421
