Deadlines

At MacMaster, each program will have a different deadline. These may range from January 1st to April 1st. Make sure to check your specific programs to see when you need to apply depending on your profile.

There are also different deadlines for submitting your application, submitting other supporting documents, and early application deadlines in case you want to be considered for easy acceptance.

How to apply to McMaster University

Ontario Secondary School Admission Overview

  1. Research your options: Start this process no later than October of your final year of secondary school.
    1. Research McMaster’s program options that match your goals.
    2. Attend a webinar or information session
    3. Discuss your goals (academic, career, etc.) with your school’s Guidance Counsellor.
  2. Apply Online: Apply online at the Ontario Universities Application Centre’s (OUAC) website. Apply before the recommended deadline (January 13) to ensure your application is processed without delays. Make sure to submit a Supplementary Application, if required. If you are required to submit an English Language Proficiency test result, upload it directly on your application portal prior to April 1, 2022.
  3. Stay Informed: Check our Mosaic Applicant Portal for specific updates to your file or our Future Students Website for general updates.

All Other Applicants Overview

  1. Research your options:
    1. Explore your goals (Academic, Career, etc.)
    2. Research McMaster program options that match your goals
    3. Explore McMaster’s campus via our Virtual Tour
  2. Apply Online: Apply online at the Ontario Universities Application Centre’s (OUAC) website and choose from a list of open programs. Submit an application based on where you are applying for and the program you will be applying for. Submit a Supplementary Application, if required.
  3. Stay Informed: Check our Mosaic Applicant Portal for specific updates to your file or our Future Students Website for general updates

Tuition

The average cost of a degree for Canadian students is between $6,042 to $9,357 and the cost for international students is from $37,236 to $47,214.

McMaster University offers multiple scholarships each year and has a great variety of them exclusively offered for first-year students. You can apply for this scholarship after sending your application through your MacID.
