Canadian Scholarships by Province

A scholarship is a sum of money that is provided as financial aid for students. Scholarships are used for educational expenses and do not need to be paid back like a loan. Canadian scholarships by province are offered based on eligibility criteria.

The criteria are decided by the scholarship donors based on what type of student they want to receive the award. For example, the H.W. Wilson Scholarship is awarded to students who are studying to become librarians. The award is sponsored by the Canadian Library Association with the goal of helping and encouraging more students to pursue a career as a librarian.

Scholarship amounts can range from a few hundred dollars up to the amount required to pay for the full education cost for a student (sometimes called a “full-ride”). The scholarship amount depends on what type of scholarship you are applying for and how competitive it is. Students often even win multiple scholarships and combine the funds to pay for their education expenses.

One of the best ways to win scholarships is with GrantMe. GrantMe provides tailored scholarship matching to help students apply to scholarships they have the highest chances of winning. More than 10 million dollars in scholarship funds go unclaimed each year because not enough students apply for them. At GrantMe, we help more students win life-changing scholarships!
