What Does the McMaster Application Consist of?
McMaster Admissions strives to identify the strongest applicants who will thrive in their intellectually stimulating and supportive environment and contribute to McMaster’s scholarly community. To this end, McMaster’s holistic admission process considers more than academic achievement. The McMaster application consists of the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC) 101 application, submission of official high school transcripts, and completion of McMaster’s Supplementary Application Form (SAF). The SAF must be completed and submitted online via the McMaster Student Recruitment & Admissions Portal. It is important to note that McMaster does not prefer one type of high school curriculum over another; students from all programs are welcome to apply.
The Weighing of Applications
McMaster Admissions takes a holistic approach when reviewing applications and relies on several factors to make admissions decisions. McMaster looks at an applicant’s high school grades, transcripts, personal profile, essays, letters of recommendation, and extracurricular achievements. When making admissions decisions, McMaster also considers an applicant’s “fit” with the McMaster community.
