Your first step to get into the University of Alberta is to check out the admissions requirements for the programs that interest you! Most UAlberta programs require you to have completed a few specific high school courses. They also require you to achieve a minimum grade point average (GPA). This minimum GPA is typically around 80%. However, we recommend aiming for a GPA in the 90% range to be a competitive candidate.

Once you’ve checked the program requirements and ensured that you’re eligible, it’s time to get started on the real process of how to get into the University of Alberta! 

To apply for most programs at the University of Alberta, all you need to do is fill out some basic information about yourself and your prior schooling. You will then need to upload your transcripts to verify your grades.

Supplementary Application

For some students, the process of how to get into the University of Alberta may include a supplementary application. This is an extra application requested by a few select programs at UAlberta. For creative programs, this is typically a portfolio or audition. For a few others programs, this could be a written statement or resume. Once you submit your general application to UAlberta, you will be told whether your program requires a supplementary application or not. 

If a supplementary application is necessary for you, try to demonstrate what makes you an excellent fit for UAlberta.
