McGill University is a public research university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Founded in 1821 by a royal charter granted by King George IV, McGill is one of three universities in the country that were created due to the Royal Charter. McGill’s main campus is situated on the slopes of Mount Royal in downtown Montreal, with the secondary campus located in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue on the Montreal West Island. McGill offers degrees and diplomas in over 300 fields of study, with the largest concentrations being in the areas of science and engineering. McGill students come from over 150 countries worldwide and represent a wide range of cultures and backgrounds, demonstrating how diverse the McGill student population is. McGill has a reputation for academic excellence and is consistently ranked as one of the top universities in the world.
Undergraduate Student Population at McGill
McGill University is one of the leading research-intensive universities in Canada. McGill’s student population is among the most diverse in all of Canada, with students coming from over 150 countries. McGill’s main campus is located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. McGill also has two satellite campuses, one in Saranac Lake, New York, and the other in Verbier, Switzerland. McGill offers over 300 programs of study across its 11 faculties and schools. McGill’s Faculty of Arts is the largest faculty at McGill, with over 13,000 undergraduate students currently enrolled. McGill’s Faculty of Science is the second largest faculty, with over 10,000 undergraduate students currently enrolled. McGill’s Undergraduate Student Population is just over 25,000 students. McGill’s graduate student population is just under 15,000 students. McGill is a truly international university with a student body that reflects the diversity of the world around us.
