Why Should You Apply for a McMaster Bursary?

Most students rely on some form of financial aid to help pay for their education, and bursaries are a great way to get the money you need. But what exactly is a bursary, and why should you apply for one?

A bursary is a type of financial aid that does not need to be repaid. Bursaries are typically based on financial need, and they can come from the government, your school, or other organizations. Bursaries can be used to cover tuition, books, and other expenses related to your education.

There are many reasons why you should apply for a McMaster bursary. First of all, bursaries can help you cover the costs of your education. This can allow you to focus on your studies instead of worrying about how you will pay for school. Additionally, bursaries can help you stay in school even if you are facing financial difficulties. Finally, bursaries can give you the opportunity to pursue your educational goals without taking on significant debt.

Applying for a bursary can seem like a lot of work, but it is worth it if you are able to get the financial assistance you need. Don’t let the cost of education stand in your way – apply for a McMaster bursary today!

McMaster Bursaries

Bursaries are funding provided by McMaster based solely on financial need. In most cases, information from your OSAP application is used to determine your financial need but some students who don’t receive OSAP may still apply for a bursary.

Undergraduate, School of Medicine and graduate students who demonstrate financial need can apply for the McMaster Bursary Program.

Eligibility Requirements Include:
  • Be enrolled at McMaster– International undergraduate students must be enrolled in Level 2 or higher
  • Submit a completed application on AwardSpring by the bursary deadline
  • Continue to demonstrate financial need throughout the study period
  • OSAP is used to demonstrate financial need. All students eligible to apply to OSAP or Out-of-Province-Government Aid Student Programs are expected to apply before applying for bursary assistance. ONLY students in the following groups will be considered for a bursary without an OSAP application.
