If you are looking to pursue your post-graduate studies in Information Science or Librarianship, then you should consider applying for the CLA/ACB Dafoe Scholarship. This scholarship is provided by the Canadian Library Association. In order to be eligible, you just need to be entering or be in the first year of your master’s in Library and Information Sciences. The fund amount for this great scholarship is $5,000, which can be used for education costs.

Applicants need to be Canadian citizens or should have permanent resident status to be eligible for this scholarship. This is because the Canadian Library Association focuses its efforts on improving the education of Canadian locals by partly sponsoring their education.

7. De Beers Group for Canadian Women 

This scholarship is provided by the De Beers Group, a company that has been active in Canada’s diamond industry for 50 years. The amount offered to students for winning this scholarship is $4,800.

The De Beer Group is partnering with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women and the HeForShe initiative to help more talented Canadian women fund their education in STEM. Their goal is to increase the number of women who complete higher education in the near future.

As you can see from its name, the first thing you need to qualify for this scholarship is to identify as a woman. All applicants also need to be studying their first year of an undergraduate program from an institute that has been officially authorized in Canada. The final requirement is that all applicants need to be studying in a program related to STEM.

8. SGI Corporate Scholarship 

This scholarship is sponsored by SGI Canada, an insurance company offering home and business insurance. To be eligible to win this $2,500 scholarship, you need to be a resident of Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba or Ontario and be enrolled full-time in post-secondary. SGI Canada specifies that students must also have received a minimum 70% GPA in their last year of study.

9. Gil Purcell Memorial Journalism Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples 

Are you passionate about journalism? Want to pursue journalism as a career? If you answered yes to both of those questions, then this scholarship is for you! In order for you to be eligible for this scholarship, you need to be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Journalism and identify as Indigenous.

This is one of the top 10 Canadian scholarships for students out there and is being provided by the Canadian press to encourage more young people to study in the field of journalism.

10. H.W. Wilson Scholarship 

The final scholarship in the list of the top 10 Canadian scholarships for students is for students who are doing their professional library degree at an authorized institution. This award is provided by the Canadian Library Association. The donor of this award is the H.W. Wilson Company.

This scholarship is offered to encourage students to study in the field of information studies or librarianship. This scholarship is only eligible for post-graduate students, and the amount awarded for the scholarship is $2,000.
