SFU Entrance Awards
The SFU Entrance Awards are offered to incoming students who are starting their first year of full-time study at SFU in an undergraduate degree program. Students must meet the entrance requirements for their chosen program and have a minimum 85% average in order to be eligible for most SFU Entrance Awards.
The Entrance Awards program offers three types of awards:
- Academic Achievement Awards: these awards are based on academic excellence and are reserved for students who have obtained a 90% or higher average.
- Leadership Awards: these awards are given to students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities through their involvement in extracurricular activities, volunteering, or community service.
- Major-Specific Scholarships: these scholarships are awarded to students who are entering specific programs of study, and selection is based on academic achievement as well as other criteria such as financial need or creative talent.
To be considered for an automatic entrance award, simply submit your completed application for admission by the applicable deadline. The university will then review your application and make a decision based on your academic merits.
For more information on SFU’s entrance awards, please visit the entrance awards website or contact the admissions office.
